Pinetops History

Pinetops is a quaint town in southern Edgecombe County.  Founded in 1901, the Town was incorporated in May 1903 as a rail station.  We grew as businesses and merchants chose to locate near the railroad line.  That railroad line took people and goods between Tarboro and Farmville.

Henry Bridgers purchased one (1) square plot that would define the Town limits.  Since that time, the people of Pinetops have been an intersection of commerce in Edgecombe County.
