Tips to Remember - Water, Sewer, Garbage & Electric

WATER - The water is tested and chemically treated to add fluoride and to destroy any harmful substances.  The water is then pumped to residents and businesses inside the Town limits and in much of the area within a mile of Pinetops. Each day the Town pumps about 250,000 gallons of water to its customers.

TIP: Repair dripping faucets and leaky toilets.  Dripping faucets can waste about 2,000 gallons of water each year.  Leaky toilets can waste as much as 200 gallons each day.

SEWER - The Town of Pinetops operates a water reclamation plant (sewer plant) that can treat 300,000 gallons of sewage per day.  The sewage is transported from residents of Pinetops by 60,000 linear feet of gravity pipes to the plant which is located on Bruton Craft Lane.

TIP: Use fluorescent rather than regular light bulbs.  They use a fourth of the energy generated by regular bulbs and last about 10 times longer.  Burn one 100-watt bulb instead of two 60-watt bulbs.  Keep lamps, shades, and bulbs dust free.
